Welcome to the Indiana Chapter of AATG, dedicated to providing essential resources and support for German educators across Indiana through newsletters, job postings, and exciting upcoming events.

German language instruction in Indiana continues to face many difficult challenges. From diploma requirement changes to institutional cuts at the post-secondary level to general attitudes around the state of which languages are "important", it can be a struggle for us to keep our programs strong. The 2026 AATG Indiana immersion weekend this year will take a look at the factors that affect program health within Indiana specifically and who, what, where, when and how we can advocate for our programs, our students, and the language and culture we love. With an interactive workshop and collaboration time with colleagues to develop resources, we hope that each attendee will leave with solid strategies and an action plan that they can bring into their context.
