My friend Derya Cesur near Düsseldorf is looking for an exchange partner.

I'm the English and German teacher of our school: Luise-von-Duesberg Gymnasium in Kempen. Our school homepage is www.lvd.de

We are a school of about 750 students grades 5 - 12. We are located in the Niederrhein area close to Dusseldorf/Cologne and the Netherlands: Less than an-hour-drive. We have an abundant amount of students who have the wish to travel to America and get to know the American way of life, thus to participate in a partnership. We have a tradition of 30 years which unfortunately had to end when our partner retired and now I'm looking for a new partnership with an American high school.

Our school has a good reputation and very good students.

Every year, I come to America with 18 students (age 15-17) and a colleague in the end of September for about 10 days and are supposed to stay with host families. The students attend German classes/shadow their American partner on some days and on some other days we go on field trips either with the Americans or without (this depends on you, if you want to/are allowed to).

After the 10 days we go to San Francisco for about 5 days. In May/June the Americans come to Germany for 10 days and do the same as we do/did in America: attend classes/go on field trips. I would organize your stay in Germany and you'd organize our stay in America (except our trip to SF-this is completely up to me).
